Opponents of Vlaidimir Putin, the Russian president, have rallied around a jailed businessman.

Mikhail Khodorkovsky, once Russia's richest man, has been in jail since 2003, when he was charged with tax evasion and fraud.

For Russia's opposition, the imprisonment of the oil magnate is another example of a judiciary controlled by the state, a fact which has made Khodorkovsky an icon for the movement.

Al Jazeera's Sue Turton reports from Moscow on the growing influence of Putin's fierce rival in a Siberian prison.
