Nadja Benaissa, a member of the German girl band No Angels, has admitted to having unprotected sex despite knowing she was HIV-positive.

The pop star, who apologised through her lawyer in court, is facing trial over accusations of infecting a man in 2004 with the virus that causes AIDS.

She also faces charges of attempting bodily harm for having unprotected sex with two other men.

Benaissa could face up to 10 years in jail if convicted.
