The echappement is synchronised via the mains and kept in step via the pushrod.
These clocks have EXCELLENT long time accuracy and when the mains fails these have a spring reserve to run for 24 to 36 hours.
These clocks were used for metering to control high-low tariffs with a weekend option, hence the weekdial in use.
