Russia and Qatar have been selected to host the World Cup finals in 2018 and 2022 respectively, Fifa, the sport's governing body announced on Thursday.
The World Cup - the world's most widely watched sporting event - lures millions of people to the country lucky enough to host it every four years.
Hosting countries usually pay billions of dollars in preparations for the football event, hoping it will in turn bring in many economic benefits.
Tania Page reports from Johannesburg, the South African city that staged the 2010 World Cup five months ago, on whether the event actually helped deliver benefits to the country.
