Martin Short was an interview guest on the 'Today' Show in New York, and Kathie Lee Gifford made a big blunder by quizzing him about his wife, Nancy Dolman...who died two years ago. Martin was on the morning show to promote his latest movie, 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted', but things quickly got awkward when Kathy said, "He and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business. How many years now for you guys?"

"We ..umm.. married 36 years," he answered. Having no clue about the error, she kept pestering him by saying, "But you're still, like, in love?" to which he replied with a smile, "Madly, madly in love." When asked why, he simply said, "Cute, I'm cute." Co-host Hoda Kotb then interjected, "That is true."
To her credit, Gifford has since realized her mistake and issued an apology both in front of the show's studio audience and on Twitter, adding that she "felt bad."

Shown here exiting the 'Today' studio, Martin seems incredibly composed considering the situation, meeting the press and public with a perfect demonstration of professionalism.
