Heritage Homes Named Small Business of the Year

Fargo-Based Home Construction Company Receives Award at
America’s Small Business Summit 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C.—At America’s Small Business Summit today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce presented Heritage Homes with the 2012 DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sam’s Club®. The award honors the Fargo-based home construction company for showcasing exemplary business practices in the areas of staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service, and business strategy.

“Heritage Homes has been a leader in the small business community for more than 15 years,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue. “Its story is a shining example of the innovation and determination that has contributed to the success of America’s free enterprise system. Today our nation’s business community stands together to recognize Heritage Homes.”

From the U.S. Chamber’s 75 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award® winners, seven regional finalists were selected from across the country. The Midwest Regional Finalist, Heritage Homes, received today’s Small Business of the Year Award.

Founded in 1995 in Fargo, North Dakota, Heritage Homes designs and constructs homes to positively impact people’s lives. CEO and Owner Daryl Braham and President and Owner Tyrone Leslie took control of the company in 2000, and grew from building three homes in 1995 to well over 50 homes in 2011. Under Braham and Leslie’s leadership, Heritage Homes has become an award-winning company, distinguished within the homebuilder’s industry. Heritage Homes is an active corporate citizen, offering goods and services to ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Fargo-Moorhead Home Builders Association, Habitat for Humanity, local churches, and numerous other organizations.
