Africa, South Asia lag in global child health

The global mortality rate for young children has been nearly halved in the past two decades, but Africa and South Asia have not kept pace, the United Nations said Thursday. An AIDS treatment treatment programme in South Africa is saving 70,000 babies every year -- a massive success story in a country with over five million people living with HIV and AIDS and a notorious treatment history.
