In the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, calls for a separate state for people in the Telangana region have raised tensions in recent weeks.
If a separate state is created, natural resources would have to be divided between Andhra and Telangana.
Many farmers say their biggest worry is who will have control of water from the Krishna river, which runs through Telangana and other Andhra regions.
The river is a vital source of sustenance for millions of people.
