Brazil aims to win right to host Olympic Games - 1 Oct 09

The International Olympic Committee is set to decide whether Madrid, Chicago, Tokyo, or Rio de Janeiro will host the Olympic Games in 2016.

The four cities have each made a strong push to ensure they are chosen, with world leaders even traveling to Copenhagen in Denmark to make the pitch in person. And that includes the president of Brazil, who has been marketing his country as the perfect backdrop for the Games.
