The Kite Runner author speaks to Al Jazeera 14 Sept 09

A bestseller in the book charts worldwide, The Kite Runner was an introduction to Afghanistan for many people.
Its author, Afghan-American writer Khaled Hosseini, drew on his childhood experiences of growing up in the capital, Kabul.
He is now back in Afghanistan as a goodwill ambassador for the UN refugee agency.
Al Jazeera's James Bays caught up with him in the city of his birth.
