DR Congo troops pursue rebel general
Government troops rain down rocket fire on rebel positions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The salvo is part of major offensive ordered by president Joseph Kabila.

He has reportedly given his forces less than a week to capture or kill rebel leader Bosco Ntaganda and end an uprising in the country's mountainous east.

Know as the "Terminator", Ntaganda is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and enlisting child soldiers.

A former general in the Congolese army, he mutinied in April, fleeing to a remote base near the Rwanda border.

The campaign to catch him has weighed heavily on civilians, forcing an estimated 100,000 people to flee their homes.
