Four years after a promise to build a "new Nepal", politicians have failed to agree on a new constitution.

With a final deadline approaching on Sunday, the nation's constituent assembly risks being disbanded if they cannot draft the document in time.

For an estimated two milliion Nepalis however, whatever the outcome of Sunday's deadline, they see little possibility for change in their lives.

Without proof of residency, Nepal's poor squatters are left landless and stateless as they lack government IDs necessary to obtain citizenship or passports.
