Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest from Rare and Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Without Donkey Kong as a playable character, the gameplay dynamics in the second Donkey Kong Country are a little different. Diddy and the newcomer Dixie Kong are a unique pairing, a shift from the speed-and-power tandem of Diddy and Donkey Kong. Otherwise, Diddy's Kong Quest has the same gameplay foundation as the original. What makes it different is the structure Rare built on top of it. The level design offers a perfect match for the abilities of the two smaller Kongs, trading brute force for towering climbs, precise platforming and longer jumps.
