Fire cripples US nuclear submarine

A fire has swept through a nuclear-powered submarine at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Maine.
The USS Miami, a 22-year old Los Angeles-class attack sub arrived in March for a refit and upgrade.
Residents reported a huge black cloud billowing over the city from the shipyard, with firefighters being called in from as far away as Boston's Logan International airport.
