SONG TO WOODY ... a great tune from Dylan's first LP on Columbia ... I wish I could sing it like him! Anyway, I have used some vintage photos in the public domain and Picasso's famous painting GUERNICA to illustrate ... the albums are from my personal collection.

I have forgotten where I read the following so I can't be sure that it is true ... but it is so good I will repeat it anyway! When the young Dylan, who was just getting a little traction as a folk artist himself, visited Woody who was on his last legs in his fight against Huntington's disease, he played a few of his tunes for Woody in the hospital room. Later, someone asked Woody what he thought of the young upstart and he said something like: "Well, he can't play all that great ... but, dang, he sure can sing!"
