Des grands noms de Houston que vous connaissez surement.

John Edward Hawkins (November 1, 1969 – May 1, 2006), better known as The Screwed Up Click's 5 Star General Big Hawk, H A Dub K or H.A.W.K was a well established rapper from Houston, Texas and a founding member of the late DJ Screw's rap group the Original Screwed Up Click. He was also the older brother of well known Houston, Texas rapper Fat Pat, who was killed in 1998. Hawk, 36, was recently married and had two young sons. Hawk released his solo album, "Under Hawk's Wings" on Dead End Records in 2000 and had recorded with Lil' Flip, Lil' Keke, Big Moe and was featured on the Lil' Troy hit "Wanna Be A Baller." He was well respected in the Houston underground rap scene and appeared on numerous legendary DJ Screw "Grey Tapes" & mixtapes from several artists such as Paul Wall, Lil' Flip, Z-Ro, E.S.G., Lil' Keke and Big Pokey. After Screw's death in 2000, he was the main person responsible for keeping the S.U.C. together, so much so that he was labeled as the Five Star General of the Screwed Up Click. He scored a regional hit with 2002's "U Already Know" and was recently featured on the popular single "Swang" by Trae that included a tribute to Fat Pat in 2005. His 2001 self-titled album reached No. 45 on Billboard's list of top R&B and rap albums. In 2006, Hawk, along with Clint Dempsey, aka Deuce, of the U.S. National Soccer team recorded a song for Nike's "Joga Bonita" World Cup soccer promotion called "Don't Tread". H.A.W.K. was blessed with being on the cover of the July Issue of The Source Magazine along with T.I., Jam Master J., Emineem & Proof. He also was featured on the cover of Street Figgaz DVD Magazine along with Don KeKe of The Original Screwed Up Click/Swisha House and on Issue #8 cover of Streetwise Magazine. His wife Mesah Hawkins was recently awarded a platinum placque from Chamillionaire in honor of her late husband. At the age of 36, Big Hawk was killed on Monday night May 1, 2006 in Houston, Texas. It is alleged that he was on his way to visit a friend to play dominoes. After finding that his friend was not there yet, he proceded to walk down the side of the house, where he was shot multiple times. The only lead Houston police have is a witness who claims to have seen a small white compact car leaving the scene shortly after the shooting. He had been working very hard bringing together all of the remaining Original Screwed Up Click members back together to record a Original S.U.C. group album titled "The Takeover" which was only the begining of his "Ghetto Dream". This project will hit the stores very soon. His ultimate mission and goal was to help bring not just Houston, but the entire south to the forefront of the rap industry. Upon his death, the remaining members of The Original Screwed Up Click began to work harder than ever in the studio. They are currently in the process of putting together several projects as individual artists & as a group. So get ready.... This is officially a Southside Takevoer...
