    As a delegation from the UN Security Council is heading to Sudan this week to monitor preparations for the upcoming referendum on independence for the south.

    Serious concerns are raised about just how free and fair the vote will be.

    There are claims from the south that the central government wants to undermine its economy, a claim that has been denied by the central government.
