Situated about 6 kms from the Grand Trunk Road (National Highway) and 150 kms from Patna, near Aurangabad, the Dev Sun Temple is one of the ancient of temples in India. The temple is well decorated and houses the image of the deity in its sanctum.
There are three statues of Sun god inside the temple which represent morning, afternoon and evening. Various statues which are very old are seen in and around the temple. The Dev Sun Temple is considered to be one of the most sacred places for pilgrimage by the devotees.
Many small shops are found outside the temple. Just next to this temple there is the very old Fort of a local King. Unlike other Sun temples, this temple faces the west and is famous for the Chhath Pooja in the month of November.
