Netanyahu calls for early Israeli elections

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested to the cabinet on Monday that early Israeli elections be held on September 4 for the 19th Knesset. The Israeli cabinet agreed and after the ministers' approval, the bill is due to be voted on in the Knesset. Netanyahu said that he intends on forming a government that will bring about stability and successfully lead the state of Israel. Netanyahu said that the weakening of the coalition harms Israel's security, economy, and society, and for this reason the right thing to do is have early elections. Netanyahu delivered the keynote speech at the Likud conference on Sunday and called for quick elections that would restore stability to the government.
