CGRundertow MAGICAL TETRIS CHALLENGE for Nintendo 64 Video Game Review
  • 12 years ago
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Magical Tetris Challenge from Capcom for the Nintendo 64. It's ironic that a game some viewed as outdated and lazy in 1999 would stand more than a decade later as one of the best aged Nintendo 64 games. Its 2D sprites, once a point of criticism, have proven timeless. They're vibrant and gorgeous...something that can't be said for many Nintendo 64 games today. There's character and polish here that's hard to discern from the other blurriness the console has left us with. It's not necessarily a masterpiece, but Magical Tetris Challenge reaches out from the past with surprising foresight...almost as if it knew better in 1999. It knew the obsession over polygons would be fleeting and that someday, somehow...its look would be appreciated again. This video review features video gameplay footage of Magical Tetris Challenge for the Nintendo 64 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
