Dominique Strauss-Kahn, once the runway favourite for the Socialist party's presidential nomination votes in the runoff poll of the French presidential election.

The former head of the International Monetary Fund had been a presidential hopeful until he became engulfed in a series of alleged sex scandals.

France is voting in an election that could make Francois Hollande France's first Socialist president in 17 years.
