On this episode of China Focus, a discussion on what's behind the conflicting messages Chinese authorities gave dissident Chen Guangcheng—and why this may be related to a high-level political power struggle within the Communist Party.
Chinese legal activist Chen Guangcheng left the US Embassy in Beijing on May 2, escorted by Ambassador Gary Locke to a hospital in Beijing. He is slated to be reunited with his family there. Chen had told his lawyer, "I'm free. I've received clear assurances."
