Violence in Idlib shakes Syrian UN truce

U.N. truce observers leave their Damascus hotel Tuesday, to join colleagues in the hotbed Syrian cities of Homs and Hama.

Violence appears to be rising again after a brief lull immediately following the implementation of the truce 19 days ago.

On Monday twin explosions near security service buildings in the city of Idlib killed nine people and injured 100 more.

The violence continued Tuesday in Idlib province when mortar bombs hit a village killing 10 people, 2 of whom were children.

The Syrian government and rebels trade blame for the continued violence. The monitors say they're trying to 'de-escalate' the sitation.

Thirty UN monitors are already in Syria, and the mission is expected to grow to 50 by the end of the week.
