What does Gotye really think about Glee's rendition of his chart-topping song? Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. Well, after Glee's Darren Criss and Matt Bomer recreated Gotye's hit single "Somebody That I Used To Know" for the April 10th episode of Glee, naturally - Gotye would be asked what he thought.
Originally, he had what appeared to be some harsh words for the folks at Glee, but - now it looks like he's trying to take them all back! He had previously called it "dinky and wrong" and said quote - "The vocals were that pop 'Glee' style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box."
Yikes! Needless to say, it wasn't too long before Gotye changed his mind and perspective, well, at least publicly. Gotye is now saying that he thinks it was clever the way Glee chose to transpose the song to two guys - and that it was a great idea. Further clarifying his "dinky" comment, Gotye says quote - "This xylophone hook in my song is kind of dinky not just in the cover version but the original song"
So what do you guys think? Do you believe Gotye's new comments are sincere, or do you think he really didn't like Glee's take, but he's trying to save face? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below and don't forget to subscribe to ClevverMusic. Thanks for watching, I'll see you next time.
