Alcoy (Spain), 23 April (EFE).- The eastern Spanish town of Alcoy once again celebrates it three-day-long festival commemorating the day in 1276 when Saint George supposedly appeared to help the Christians defeat the Moors in a battle in Alcoy. The Moors and Christians festival, which dates back to the 16th Century, has rightly been declared a Festivity of International Tourist Interest.
