Lebanese security forces cordon off the site of an explosion which wounded at least four people in the southern city of Tyre.

The Lebanese state news agency said the blast - which went off some time after midnight - targeted a restaurant on the eastern outskirts of the city.

The restaurant owner said he was on his way to work when the explosion occurred.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) RESTAURANT OWNER, ZAHI ZAYDAN, SAYING:

"I was on my way to the restaurant in my car, talking on the phone, I heard an explosion and then something fell on the car."

The blast is one of a series of explosions that have taken place recently in the region - a Hezbollah stronghold in which U.N. peacekeepers are deployed.

Most of the recent attacks have targeted restaurants serving alcohol and frequented by the peacekeepers.
