A legend returns to Broadway.

For the first time in over 30 years the Broadway musical "Evita" returns to the 'Great White Way.'

The new production stars pop singer Ricky Martin and Broadway newcomer Elena Roger Michael Servers.

"Evita" tells the true story of Argentina's first lady Eva Peron, who was once considered one of the most powerful women in the world.

The original production of the show earned the show's creators Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice seven Tony Awards in 1980.

For Martin the opportunity to return to Broadway in an iconic role is overwhelming.

SOUNDBITE: Ricky Martin, actor, saying:

"I am very thankful, a lot of gratitude because of the people that I am working with, the cast, directors, producers, choreographers, people that are guiding me in such a beautiful way and I am just allowing myself to be loved and cared for by an amazing audience every night. And it's been amazing, I'm honored to be back - as part of the Broadway community."
