Fibre Channel backward compatibility allows you to upgrade individual compoents of the data center while adding performance benefits across the data center for both storage area networks and server technologies. By using Ethernet solutions capable of offloading some of the processing, you achieve increased throughput which translates to better IO performance. At Oracle Open World, Jake Ludington spoke with Mike Jochimsen about how Emulex implements both Fibre Channel and Ethernet solutions to benefit HP servers.
