Fox News contributor and Medical A-Team member Dr. David Samadi provides information on how allergy sufferers can minimize their symptoms during what is expected to be one of the worst allergy seasons in recent years. Dr. Samadi explains how allergy symptoms are caused by an overactive immune response to pollen; often causing a runny nose, itchy eyes, and a scratchy throat. He also talks about how allergies can trigger asthma and serious respiratory issues in some people.
Dr. Samadi provides tips for minimizing the effect of pollen including limiting your time outdoors. He says that if you're using an air conditioner you should be sure that it's set to circulate the air from inside your house rather than bringing air in from outside. This will reduce the amount of pollen that circulates within the inclosed space. He also suggests that if you do spend time outdoors, shower and change your clothes after you come inside.
