    France’s biggest terrorism trial in years has begun, with a scientist at CERN, the world’s largest particle physics lab, accused of conspiring with Al-Qaeda. Supporters of the defendant, Adlene Hicheur, say he is only guilty of fitting the stereotype a French terrorist: a young, practicing Muslim with an Arab background. And after being detained for more than 2.5 years without formal charges the case has ballooned into an international embarrassment for France.
