Born into an artistic family, (her father an impressionist painter and her Mother a classical singer) Nell Bryden was entertaining her fellow toddlers at the age of two, playing piano at four, and cello at nine. Maybe not with the expertise she enjoys now, but the inherent love of music was the same. Luckily for us, that love of performing has only grown. Balancing her time in the recording studio, Bryden is constantly crossing the oceans, sharing a blend of blues, country, modern-Dixie and jazz into a song writing style uniquely her own. Wellesley-educated, she independently released five CDs; her sixth- What Does It Take—produced by multi-Grammy-winning producer David Kershenbaum (Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson)—is scheduled for release in Summer 2009. David was so excited to be working with Nell and claimed He hadnt been this excited about an act since Tracy Chapman! The Counting Crows guitarist Dave IMMY Immergluck- also plays on the album. With a bevy of industry tastemakers and major Irish, British and American labels at each show she plays, Nell is simply the most talked about and sought after new artist of 2009. Nell has built this buzz the old-fashioned way: word-of-mouth endorsements of her live show. She has been deemed as one of the British Isles and indeed Irelands next breaking act. What does it take- well lets just say, she has what it takes!
