More than 400 flights were cancelled on Friday due to a walk out at Frankfurt airport. The disruption is set to get worse as the union threatens to step up its action.

The apron controllers who guide planes in and out of parking slots have failed to reach a wage agreement with the airport operator. The action has a knock on effect on flights throughout Europe.
