Will Ferrell, star of the upcoming movie Casa de Mi Padre, has been striking box office gold for over 10 years, but is he still funny?

Joining the cast in 1995, Ferrell rose to prominence on Saturday Night Live with dead on impersonations of President George W. Bush, Harry Caray and James Lipton, as well as with quirky characters like Craig, one half of the "Spartan Cheerleaders." By the early 2000s, he was starring in blockbuster movies. Old School, Elf, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy were some of the most quotable comedies of the past decade.

Ferrell also co-founded Funny or Die, an original comedy website best known for "The Landlord," a sketch in which he starred alongside a foulmouthed toddler.

But it hasn't all been comedy gold for Ferrell. Critics trounced his underwhelming 2008 effort, Semi-Pro, which only has a 21% current rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A film version of the 1970s TV series Land of the Lost didn't fare much better. Ferrell has had hits since then, but he is by no means the box office lock he once was.
