Fan energy is typically the most significant consumer of energy within a commercial building. Approximately 50% of energy can be saved by replacing the existing AC belt driven backward-curved fans throughout a building to EC plug fans.
This video shows the energy-savings that were achieved by replacing a belt driven backward curved centrifugal fan with an ebm-papst EC Plug fan. The fan energy consumption was reduced by 50% while at the same time airflow could be increased by 10%, achieving additional enhancement of cooling capacity of +15-20%.
The works were administrated by System Solutions Engineering, an Adelaide-based engineering consultancy.
