Israelis to pose naked at the Dead Sea

Registration has begun for Israeli volunteers wishing to pose naked for a photo shoot at the Dead Sea. American photographer Spencer Tunick known for his photographs of naked people at 75 sites around the world, plans to call the event "Disrobe to save the Dead Sea." The photo shoot is scheduled to take place on September 17, its aim to raise international awareness for the condition of the rapidly receding Dead Sea. Tunick said he first visited the Dead Sea in 1979 as a child and returned last year and was shocked to discover how much the water had receded. He said he would like his naked subjects to cover themselves in the beneficial mud and float in the sea. He recently photographed 5,200 nude Australians on the steps of the Sydney Opera House.
