The Ministry of Defense has announced that the Iron Dome missile defense system has undergone a series of successful trials over the past week and that it will become operational in November. The Ministry stated that over the past week alone the IDF's anti-aircraft artillery corps and RAFAEL Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. implemented successful comprehensive missile intervention trials. As part of these latest trials conducted in the south, Iron Dome coped for the first time with multiple simultaneous threats, and the Ministry of Defense announcement said, "All the threats were intercepted by the system with full success." The IDF is training a unit in the anti-aircraft artillery corps to operate Iron Dome. An observer who watched Monday's test and has no active role in the defense establishment said the test was "amazing."
