Drama off the coast of Gaza unfolded with Arab media recording and broadcasting live images from the flotila carrying aid to Palestinians. Arab Media in Turkey reported 14 deaths and more than 50 injuries aboard the ship resulting from the IDF operation to take over the ship by force. The NTV Russian news network also carried live broadcasts from the early hours of the morning. The IDF announced that six soldiers had been injured in the operation, two seriously and two lightly, all four being treated in Haim Sheba hospital in Tel Hashomer. The soldiers were wounded by knife wounds and live ammunition. IDF sources later said that the ships meant to be delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza were not friendly and that they had been waiting for the troops with live ammunition and other weapons.
