Recent Removal Of West Bank Checkpoint One More Israeli Gest
  • 12 years ago
As a gesture to the Palestinian Authority Israel removed a checkpoint located at the village of Bir Naballah near Ramallah last Thursday lifting travel restrictions imposed on over 50,000 Palestinians who live in villages in the Ramallah area. The checkpoints were set up by Israel following the eruption of the Al; Aksa intifada in 2000 as a measure to prevent terrorists from entering Israel. Tawfiq Nabali, head of the Bir Nabala village council, welcomed the step which he said will allow Palestinians to live in dignity.08/24/08
