Sniper Assassinates Top Syrian General With Links To Hizbull

A top Syrian general who served as the country's liaison officer to Hizbullah was shot dead by a sniper in the Syrian port city of Tartous on Friday. Sources in Damascus said that General Mohammed Suleiman was a key orchestrator in the sharing of nuclear information and technology between Iran, Syrian and North Korea. According to reports he was also responsible for securing the Syrian Al-Kibar nuclear reactor which was destroyed in an Israeli Air Strike last year. The sources said that Syrian authorities had been trying to prevent news of Suleiman's death from being published. 08/03/08
