BBC correspondent Alan Johnston was freed Wednesday morning after 114 days in captivity. The Hamas movement, following its bloody takeover of the Gaza Strip, by taking credit for Johnston's release, is attempting to show it is bringing order to the strife-ridden land, gain international legitimacy and lift the financial embargo. However, Hamas has in no way softened its ideology which calls for the annihilation of Israel, and Gilad Shalit is still languishing in captivity. 07/04/07
