Plane crash kills two in New Zealand

A light aircraft crashed into a park on New Zealand's North Island on Monday (January 23) killing both people on board.
Police said the incident, which happened in a busy park in Feilding, could have claimed more lives.
Wreckage of the Russian-made Aerostar Yak was spread across the park in Feilding, around 160km (100miles) north of Wellington.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) INSPECTOR MARK HARRISON, NEW ZEALAND POLICE SAYING:
"We're just in the process now of speaking with the next of kin, securing the scene and we will be working with the CAA and us on behalf of the coroner will be carrying out our investigations."
Police said the two-seater aircraft took off just 25 minutes earlier from Taonui Aerodrome on a private flight.
The Aerostar Yak is primarily used in New Zealand as a recreational or aerobatic aircraft.

"He did a sort of loop the loop and started heading out this way and flipped upside down and was flying upside down for a while. And then he flipped over and went into a dive."
The area has been cordoned off and tents were erected to help preserve the wreckage and allow for crash investigators to look into what happened.
A Disaster Victim Identification team is at the site along with investigators from the Civil Aviation Authority.
