Guido Maria Kretschmer mixes travel and design

German designer Guido Maria Kretschmer takes his guests for a ride.
The veteran presented his fall/winter 2012 collection in Berlin with a little help from his past travels.
SOUNDBITE: Guido Maria Kretschmer, designer, saying (German):
"It was a ride with the Trans-Siberian Railroad. It was a look that I encountered from Southwest and Central Asia through to Mongolia all the way to China. That is the look. I present some Mongolian looks, Southwest Asian, slightly Japanese looks. So it's folklore but interpreted in a completely new way. 'Damoi' means 'home' in Russian, and that is exactly what this is. Those were places where I felt completely comfortable during my travels."
The outfits presented on the catwalk were unexpected, delicate and wearable at the same time.
Geisha-like models were topped off with fur hats, showcasing Asian inspired dresses with floral prints, and floating fabrics.
Kretschmer has even called this collection his most personal ever.
Berlin Fashion Week will end on January 21.
