A surfer suffered serious injuries after he was attacked by a shark on Wednesday north of Sydney, Australia.
Local media reports said the 44-year-old man was surfing near Newcastle in New South Wales, when he was bitten, suffering serious wounds to his upper thigh.
Local media identified the shark in question, in video shot from a helicopter.
The incident was the second attack in the country this month.
On January 3, a 28-year-old man was attacked 40 miles (64.4 km) further south near Gosford, suffering puncture wounds to his arm.
Australia averages three shark attacks a year.
