Angry anti-regime protesters surrounded Arab League monitors as they arrived into the Kurdish populated town of Amouda.
In amateur footage, from a social media site, people chanted 'freedom'.

The Arab League suspended Syria in November and sent an observer mission to verify if the country was sticking to an agreement to stop its crackdown on protesters.
One monitor has resigned saying the mission was powerless to prevent what he called "scenes of horror" he witnessed in Homs.
In further amateur video, also obtained from a social media website, a crowd of protesters gather in Homs.
Reuters is unable to independently verify the content of this video either.
Eight people were reported to have been killed in Homs including a French journalist.
He is the first foreign journalist to be killed in 10 months of unrest in which the UN says 5000 people have been killed.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has given no indication he would step down, saying he would defeat "foreign conspirators" plotting to end his rule.
