In Taiwan politicians sue over the slightest provocation. But neither Tsai nor Next Magazine is being sued. This suggests that either President Ma was aware of the operation — which involved 28 Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau officials and was orchestrated by National Security Council Secretary General Hu Wei-chen — or that the president was unaware of the operation, thus indicating a serious lapse in the chain of command or even gross incompetence on Ma's part, as Hu reports directly to Ma.
