Perry pulls out of People's Choice, Russell Brand gets new show

Katy Perry has pulled out of this week's People's Choice Awards show for what would have been her first major public appearance since her split with husband Russell Brand. Perry is up for favorite pop artist and favorite female pop artist at Wednesday's (January 11) show - which airs 10 days after Brand filed divorce papers to end their 14 month-old marriage.
Speaking of Brand, the comedian has signed up for a new late night TV comedy show on the U.S. network FX, scheduled to begin later this year. The show features Brand giving a live audience his take on politics, news and pop culture.
Lindsay Lohan is reportedly in talks to play Elizabeth Taylor in a made-for-TV movie on U.S. cable channel Lifetime. The film, called "Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story" will chronicle the romance between Taylor and two-time husband Richard Burton.
Finally, K.D. Lang has filed legal documents to dissolve her domestic partnership with longtime girlfriend Jamie Price. The pair have been together since 2003.
