Kyrgyzstan plane flips on landing

STORY: A Tupolev Tu-134 plane flipped onto its side after landing in thick fog at Osh airport in Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday.
The plane, operated by national carrier Kyrgyzstan Airlines, had 69 people onboard. Several passengers had minor injuries, but none of them were killed or seriously injured, the Kyrgyz Transport Ministry reported.
After the plane overturned it lost its wing and caught fire, but the airport rescue team managed to evacuate the passengers.
"We alerted our rescue team, they arrived in one minute 30 seconds and started putting out fire on the plane and evacuating the passengers," said Yuldash Kozubayev, Deputy Head of Osh airport,
"The plane flew out (of Bishkek) at around 12:00 pm (06:00 am gmt) and on arrival to the airport it got into an accident because of harsh weather conditions. All the passengers were evacuated with the help of the airport rescue teams," Kyrgyzstan Airlines representative, Bakyt Gusarov said.
The rescue workers managed to put out the fire quickly, although eight people received minor injuries and were taken to the local hospital, Interfax news agency reported.
