The Chinese regime is likely to obtain millions of barrels of oil after settling a deal to explore and extract oil in Afghanistan.
Chinese state-owned company China National Petroleum Corporation has won a bid to develop oil blocks in the Amu Darya basin. The basin holds nearly 90-million barrels of oil.
The contract involves oil production in the northern Afghan provinces of Sar-e Pul and Faryab.
This is the second significant deal for a Chinese company—but the first for Afghanistan in decades.
