STORY: Britain's Queen Elizabeth II joined everyday rail passengers on Wednesday (December 21) as she set off for her Christmas break.
The monarch showed a common touch by taking the train, although she did ride first class, from London to Kings Lynn in Norfolk.
Many passengers appeared unaware of their royal traveling companion as they disembarked.
But onlookers in the station's car park acknowledged the Queen with a cheer as she drove off to her Sandringham estate 30 minutes away.
Queen Elizabeth II and her family traditionally spend Christmas at Sandringham.
