Russian activist released from jail as others arrested

Dozens brave a cold snowy Moscow morning to greet a released prisoner.
Anti-corruption blogger Alexei Navalny's become a leader of the anti Vladimir Putin protest movement .
(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) BLOGGER AND OPPOSITION LEADER, ALEXEI NAVALNY, SAYING:
"I am absolutely confident we will prevail. Protest activities will continue, we will keep coming to the streets until our legitimate and sensible demands are met."
Navalny was arrested at a rally after controversial elections protesters believe were rigged in favour of Putin's United Russia party.
Demonstrations continued as the Russian parliament opened for the first time since the elections.
Several protesters were dragged into police vehicles.
This opposition politician compared the recent rallies to the 'Arab spring.'
(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) RUSSIAN COMMUNIST POLITICIAN, VIKTOR ANPILOV, SAYING:
"Russia is part of a global process, its not isolated, and what is happening here is very easily correlated with what is happening in Libya and Egypt."
Further protests are planned for Saturday.
